“The joys and the hopes, the griefs and the anxieties of the men of this age, especially those who are poor or in any way afflicted, these are the joys and hopes, the griefs and anxieties of the followers of Christ.
Indeed, nothing genuinely human fails to raise an echo in their hearts.”
(Pastoral Constitution, Gaudium et Spes, 1)
In order that our spiritual journey is aligned with our pastoral and apostolic reality, the Maronite Eparchy of Australia has several organisations, institutions, groups and committees that cater for the needs of the community.
Teams of Our Lady was founded by Father Henri Caffarel in France in 1947 and has spread to over 10,000 Teams world-wide. Teams Of Our Lady is a lay movement officially recognized by the Holy See under the Pontifical Council for the Laity. A team is a group of five to seven couples and a spiritual advisor who meet once a month to share, pray and discuss challenges of living a Christian marriage and life. Couples use a time-tested format to meet their needs and desires of growing closer in love and faith through Teams of Our Lady and in the process they discover support for one another and for their marriage.
As married couples, the goal is to grow closer together in love and holiness. Yet in today’s busy society, with forces and stresses that can undermine both marriage and faith, where can couples fine the time to connect not only with one another but with Christ?
Teams of Our Lady is an international Catholic movement active in over 50 countries. Several Teams are active in the Maronite Eparchy of Australia.
We are always seeking to share the gift of Teams and strengthen Christian marriages. We welcome you to join us.

Faith & Light is a committee dedicated to bringing people with different abilities, their families, carers, and friends back into their Parish community.
Faith & Light operates thanks to a committed group of volunteers, who meet once a month to plan, organise and promote the spiritual, social and humanitarian aspects of persons with a different abilities wellbeing, as well as that of their family members, carers and friends.
Faith & Light recognizes that everyone has their own unique gifts and talents to offer and that God has blessed each individual with a special purpose in life.
Faith & Light aims to allow this purpose to be fulfilled by providing a welcoming environment for people of all abilities to meet and establish caring and nurturing relationships with others.
The committee welcomes everyone with love and affection to together celebrate the gift of Faith and Life.

The Church from its beginning relied and was built on the Word of the Lord and this Word was the fountain. The Word helped the Church to grow in faith, hope and love, and it was the solution for any problem and provided all the answers. Our Christian community today that is in need to go back to this fountain that gives life to the community and makes it grow in holiness.
Following the steps of the Church and its teachings, there we find the purpose of establishing the Family of Divine Word and in summary it is:
- Deepening our “knowledge of Jesus Christ”
- Learning the Holy Word, by practising how to read the Word of God, contemplating its content, striving to live it, being enriched from its treasures and witnesses to it
- Spreading the Word of the Lord as commanded to us by the Church, our mother
- Continue living the Holy Word in our life and in our families so they grow closer to Jesus, with him and for Him
- Working for the unity of the Church (people attending are from different churches: Orthodox, Assyrian, Catholic, Maronite, Chaldean, …)
We might on a weekly basis in several parishes.
